Culinary plagiarism takes many forms, but a popular large pub chain snatching up a more popular large restaurant chain is rarer.
JD Wetherspoon, led by Brexit maniac Tim Martin, recently introduced two dishes of ‘grilled chicken’ and fries to his menu. One includes lemon and herb glazed chicken; the other “Pepper and citrus naga”. The combination of chilli and citrus is a hallmark of peri peri seasoning, but so far no harm from poultry.
Until the pub group released their visual identity for the new dishes:
I’ve supported my dad through a lot, but stealing the entire visual and culinary identity of one of Britain’s most beloved restaurants is deeply unethical. JD Wetherspoons was not founded on these principles. pic.twitter.com/HlAnk6NZr5

Please note that Clive Martin’s Succession pamphlet of his real and / or non-real filial relationship with Tim Martin may or may not be a little.
What isn’t a bit is Wetherspoons’ wholesale scam of its competitor’s brand identity for the purpose of flogging chicken that drives Nando’s prices down.
Maybe Martin just wanted to lean on something else the two channels share: the dire consequences of the Brexit deal he so vehemently supported. Martin has repeatedly called for more European workers to fill labor shortages caused by the deal he voted for, while Nando’s had to close 40 restaurants over the summer due to labor shortages. chicken. More soon to find out whether or not there is a roasted war on the horizon.
