Mehrauli is a constant hangout for high-end restaurants and fashion houses, offering a combination of fine dining and luxury shopping experience. From time to time, new restaurants open their doors to Delhi’s discerning population. Swan created quite a buzz when it opened a few years ago and always catches our eye for authentic Italian and Japanese cuisine. Our recent visit to Swan to try their new menu was almost as impressive as the last.
The expansive restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating areas. Our obvious choice was the open-air terrace, lined with a huge neem tree and lots of greenery. The stunning view of the Qutub Minar in the backdrop lifted our mood and charged our appetite.
We started our meal with Mushroom Cappuccino. No, it’s not coffee but a comforting, creamy and delicious soup. Chicken and Chive Gyoza was a good dish but we thought it could do better with more flavors.
We absolutely loved the herb marinated shrimp; the smoky aroma and flavor complemented the spicy garlic mayonnaise. Next we tried Tiger Prawn Tempura and highly recommend it to everyone. While we were intrigued by the concept of the spicy tomato and burrata cheese risotto, the dish didn’t really wow our taste buds.
We ended our meal with chocolate and hazelnut fondant and swan cake, both of which gave a sweet and memorable ending to our meal.
Overall our experience at Swan this time around was good and the vibe would probably tempt us to return.
