ST. GEORGE- From time to time, “What’s on the Menu” host Sheldon Demke’s job takes him to faraway exotic locations like the Eureka Casino Resort in Mesquite, Nevada.

Gregory’s Mesquite Grill is Eureka’s fine dining establishment. The menu offers everything from classic steakhouse fare to mouth-watering seafood. Accompanied by radio pioneer and local legend Carl Lamar, Demke tried a bit of everything.

“This place is so nice,” he said. “It’s chic, stylish and comfortable, and they cooked up so many delicious dishes for us to try.”

Demke started with surf and turf, opting for the 6-ounce Maine lobster tail paired with a 6-ounce tenderloin. Meanwhile, Lamar dug into a magnificent 18-ounce ribeye.

Next is the seared ahi tuna, a tasty appetizer that Demke promised to return to taste again and again. Both men loved the juicy and tender bone-in pork chop.

“Now, I’m not a big fan of pork chops, but I’m Gregory,” Lamar said. “I don’t know what they did, where they found a cut like that, but it was absolutely to die for.”

Gregory’s Mesquite Grill also offers an extensive wine selection to perfectly complement any meal.

Owner Gregory Lee designed the restaurant as an extension of his home, welcoming and warm. With two dining areas, one more formal and the other offering a relaxed clubhouse atmosphere, it’s the perfect getaway for a nice dinner with golf buddies or a romantic date.

“We love to celebrate any special occasion; birthdays, anniversaries. It’s our specialty,” said Dani Lefebvre, Marketing Director for Eureka.

The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday, with early bird specials starting at 4 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
