Comic books and all things sci-fi and fantasy were to be found in abundance at New York Comic Con at the Javits Center on Saturday.
Fans had the chance to immerse themselves in all that the comic book world has to offer. From Marvel to “Stranger Things” to “Star Trek,” there was a little something for everyone.
Tens of thousands of fans flocked to the Javits Center for another chance to meet their favorite comic artist, sci-fi/fantasy personalities and have some cosplay fun. The event also allowed vendors to showcase their products.
Last year the event had a cap on the number of people who could attend due to the pandemic, but the event was back at full capacity.
“Especially now after this adventure of the last few years where we couldn’t go out and we had to wear masks, I really appreciate that we wear masks of a different type here,” said participant Joe Mauratonio.
The interactive exhibits were also a huge hit, such as a room inspired by “Spy Family,” the hit Japanese manga series.
And whether you’re a “Star Wars” fan or not, Vader’s Vault has declared their lightsabers a huge hit.
Fans also enjoyed booth after booth of comic books as well as handcrafted jewelry inspired by their favorite superheroes.
“It’s great to see all these fans who have been wearing our jewelry for years, we can connect again, so it’s always amazing, but it feels like coming home when it’s specific to the New York Comic Con,” said Allison Cimino of Rocklove Jewelry.
The last day of New York Comic Con is Sunday.
