“I love cooking late at night,” says Adam Liaw, as he kicks off an episode of “Midnight Feast” from The kitchen. So are his guests and so are we, so here’s a roundup of some late-night favorites, including recipes from the show and more.

midnight spaghetti

Short on prep time but not on flavor, this 15-minute spaghetti from Adam Liaw is perfect for easy late-night comfort cooking. It’s a savory combination of anchovies, garlic, chili flakes, capers, parmesan, and fried panko breadcrumbs mixed with spaghetti.

Pan-fried gnocchi with miso butter, cherry tomatoes and baby spinach

“This is a super simple dish that I like to eat when I come home from a comedy gig. I usually crave the carbs and salty flavors after the adrenaline rush of the night, and this dish has plenty of them – but it also has vegetables too. The miso butter comes from a recipe by David Chang that he shared in The New York Times,“says comedian Jennifer Wong of this recipe, which she shares on the ‘Aftershow’ episode of The kitchen. With a package of purchased gnocchi from the fridge, you can have this deliciousness in your bowl in about 15 minutes.

Korean cheese steaks

A take on the classic Philly Cheesesteak (a type of long roll filled with thin slices of beef and melted cheese, which Adam Liaw describes as “like the Philadelphia kebab”), these rolls make great late-night meals. Here, Adam put a Korean spin on America’s favorite dish, using gochujang paste in the marinade for the beef and kimchi in the topping.

Caramel Popcorn Midnight Marathon

Are you looking for complete and excessive indulgence? This crazy monster shake will do it for you. Don’t forget the delights of the good old tuna fondant! If you have bread, cheese, mayo, and bread, and maybe some veggies, if you like, you can make this fudgy snack in minutes.

Muffin roujia

It’s the kind of hearty, two-handed grab-and-go meal that will make you truly happy midnight early, forward-thinking you who made the delicious braised pork ahead of time. Ground pork can be stored in the fridge or freezer, then reheated in a skillet over low heat. Rou jia mo is the oldest burger in the world. Originally from Shaanxi province, this burger has been made for over 2000 years. Instead of making specific “mo” buns, Adam Liaw uses English muffins instead. So all you have to do is reheat the muffins and stuff them with your delicious the zhi rou (braised pork).

Chicken katsu burger

Shared by Nelly Robinson in the first season of The kitchen, this burger combines two great elements of Japanese cuisine: the crispy coating of katsu and Kewpie mayonnaise. Five-minute microwave flan de leche
