Ammon News – Reflected Archeology in the Ecosphere and Sociosphere – the 15th International Conference on Jordan’s History and Archeology – will kick off at the campus of Yarmouk University (YU) from August 2-5.
The conference, organized by the YU and the Department of Antiquities, will cover 13 scientific topics that cover all aspects involved in the title of the conference, said a joint statement released Sunday by the YU, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Department.
More than 166 research papers will be presented by scientists, researchers and scholars at the conference, and several workshops will be held on the sidelines.
There will be 294 participants in total, 120 from Jordan, 8 from Arab countries (Egypt, Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Emirates) and 166 from other countries including Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France. , Germany, Greece, Hungary, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States.
This global gathering, first organized in the 1980s in Oxford, United Kingdom, at the initiative of Prince Hassan bin Talal, is considered a major international event that allows researchers to present a summary of their scientific production. on the history and archeology of Jordan and the Levant.
The conference, which takes place every three years, gives scholars the opportunity to converse and share knowledge while highlighting Jordan’s history nationally, regionally and globally.
Over the past decade, countries like Germany, France, UK, USA, Australia and Italy have competed to host the event alternately with Jordan.
