Como Taperia launches premier Taste Our Travels menu

Fancy a trip abroad right now? U.S. too. Bad news, most of us probably won’t be able to make it in the next few months, but we can getting to Como Taperia, which is really like entering Spain.

Popular destination of Mount Pleasant invites diners to take a stool in its lively bar to enjoy a special dinner that is part of Air Canada’s Best New Restaurant Collaboration with OpenTable’s Chef’s Menu initiative .

Inspired by the recent trip of the Como Taperia team to Spain, the Taste Our Travels menu is an exclusive multi-course experience.

The exceptional spread includes dishes inspired by different parts of the country, such as Madrid, Seville, Cadiz, Jerez and Andalusia.

“It was great to finally be back in Spain this fall after a long hiatus,” said Shaun Layton, Como Taperia co-owner with Frankie Harrington.

“We spent an entire week eating and drinking in some of the best tapas bars in the area. From Sala de Despiece in Madrid, Bodegas Santa Cruz in Seville, the legendary El Faro in Cadiz and La Tranca in Malaga. It was unbelievable. We’re excited to bring some of that inspiration back with us on this special menu.

Available now through January 27, 2022, those who come to E 7th Avenue Restaurant to enjoy it can look forward to devouring tapas-style bites designed for groups of two.

Pieces like the 18-month-old marinated Manchego in Spanish olive oil and the “Chicharron” pork lomo (slowly cooked spicy pork neck) start the meal in an exceptional way.

From there, expect killer dishes like fried bacalao (marinated and fried salt cod), vermut clams, and a Migas crusted Spanish octopus with black garlic and Muhamara Griega, for n to name a few.

The rest of the menu highlights include Como’s signature fried eggplant made with spicy honey and rosemary and a tender Pork al Whiskey.

For dessert, diners can enjoy a delicious Queso Sorbeto made with hazelnut oil, honey and bee pollen.

The Taste Our Travels menu for two is $ 130 per pair, and an optional drink pairing is an additional $ 50, but we recommend it for the full experience.
