Ground Defense Force 6, the latest game in the long-running series of sci-fi shooters from Sandlot and D3 Publisher, recently arrived on PlayStation in Japan. No English version has yet been announced, leaving EDF fans having no choice but to import the Japanese game. Fortunately, we have some experience with Japanese games here. In this episode of our long-running Co-op International column, we provide a full English translation with screenshots of all EDF6The menus. There is the import barrier!
To make it easier to navigate this maze of screenshots and translations, we’ve divided the menus into sections. Select a section to visit that section’s page.
How to import
Ground Defense Force 6 is available on PlayStation 4 and 5 in both physical and digital formats. The game is not region locked, so it will work on any PlayStation 4 or 5 console. The menus and dialogues are in Japanese, but the gameplay is quite intuitive. We will also be releasing a menu translation guide soon!
The PS4 and PS5 versions are available from Amazon Japan for ¥7,345 (currently about $55) shipping or from Play-Asia for $62.99 plus shipping. Alternatively, players can purchase the digital version using a Japanese PSN account for ¥8,980. See this guide to create a Japanese PSN account. To buy Japanese PSN cards, we recommend Play-Asia.
