Celebrate Negroni Week With These Cocktail Recipes

It’s that time of year when every bar in the world raises a toast to the iconic red Negroni cocktail and drinks for a good cause. It’s World Negroni Week! A global celebration to show appreciation for this iconic cocktail. Traditionally made with gin, vermouth and Campari, Negroni is a classic bright red cocktail, infused with intense flavors, Negroni was created around 1919 in Florence, Italy, at Caffe Rivoire. It all started when Count Camillo Negroni used to ask for his favorite drink which was Americano (equal parts sweet vermouth, Campari and sparkling water) stronger and once just to try something else the bartender replaced the sparkling water with gin, and the Negroni was born!

In this World Negroni Week, Beam Suntory is toasting this popular drink by bringing its portfolio of two premium gins – the quintessential London Dry Gin – Sipsmith and its Japanese Craft Gin – Roku.

Hot Negroni

This sublime twist is a classic and a wonderfully warming, herbaceous sip.

Ingredients required:

25ml Sipsmith London Dry Gin

25ml Campari

25ml sweet vermouth

Red fruit tea

Dried orange (optional)

Method: Pour the first three ingredients into a cup and stir. Garnish with hot red fruit tea. Garnish with a dehydrated orange or a slice of fresh orange

Glassware: Tea cup

Garnish: Dehydrated orange or slice of fresh orange


Invigorating bitter, complex herbaceous – yet still refreshing, this Negroni recipe will soothe your palette

Ingredients required:

25ml Sipsmith London Dry Gin

25ml sweet vermouth

25ml Campari

orange zest (to garnish)

cloves, to garnish (optional)


Fill a mixing glass with ice. Add all ingredients to the mixing glass and stir 20-25 times. Strain into a Rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with an orange zest, sprinkled with cloves

Glassware: rock glass

Garnish: orange zest, cloves

japanese negroni

Ingredients required:

30ml Roku gin

15ml Umeshu

15ml Campari

Method: Build in glass on a large ice cube.

Glassware: Old Fashioned / Roc

Garnish: Orange twist

Roku Negroni

Ingredients required:

50ml Roku gin

10 ml bitter liqueur

10ml Vermouth

10ml sakura syrup

Method: Mix and stir. Garnish with an orange zest

Glassware: Old Fashioned / Rocks

Garnish: Orange zest
