Nothing like enjoying a good cocktail. Whether you’ve just finished a long day at work or are watching your favorite football team, the right drink designed to your liking can improve any situation, whether it’s a complex six-ingredient concoction or of a simple classic.

There are so many cocktail recipes it can be a bit overwhelming. How do you find something that suits you and suits your tastes? Well, why not add your favorite sport (we’re guessing it’s football) and go from there? And what better place to start than Los Angeles, one of the best cities in the world to drink tequila?

The 18 and 1800® Tequila has teamed up to explore the flavors of Los Angeles football fandom, especially LAFC fans. We are big fans of cocktails and one of our favorite ingredients is the 1800®‘s Cristalino, a delicious, crystalline spirit with all the sweetness and complexity of an Añejo strained to give the silkiness and drinkability of a Blanco. We worked with tastemaker James Lee to create five unique LAFC cocktail recipes designed to showcase LA football culture. These aren’t your everyday margarita blenders; these cocktails represent the best side of LA society.

  • 1 oz. 1800® Cristalino
  • 0.5oz. Aperol
  • 2oz. Pellegrino Aranciata rossa (blood orange)

The LA Spritzer represents the star power and class of LAFC, whether signing some of the best talent in the world or winning the Supporters Shield in the club’s only second season. Just as LAFC’s lineup can be modified with its many multi-faceted players, the LA Spritzer can be modified to fit all the ingredients in your home; the key is the luxuriously smooth flavor of 1800® Cristalino comes out with the bitterness of Aperol softened with sparkling wine or flavored sparkling water (we prefer Pellegrino blood orange).

Elevate your pre-game and drink this drink from a tall wine glass on a hot day in Los Angeles before heading to Banc of California Stadium for a big game. Combine all ingredients and stir until cool in hand, then garnish with a slice or twist of orange. (We suggest a slice of orange as it reminds us of halftime youth games growing up.)

Think of it as a Japanese-style Bloody Mary, but leave the bloody mix at home. Instead, opt for V8 Refreshing Tomato Juice (or a similar brand), because we know how important it is to stay fit in Los Angeles. Ancho Reyes liqueur—plus any hot sauce you want to add because Angelenos love to heat things up—adds the perfect kick to a morning, afternoon, or night in Los Angeles.

Build The North End Mary in a tall Collins glass. Combine all the ingredients and the ice cream before garnishing with your favorite gory topping, like celery, olives, pickles or, since you’re on the coast, fresh shrimp.
