200 students from 52 countries take part in Gujarat university cooking party


No less than 200 students from 52 countries took part in a food festival in Vadodara, Gujarat on Monday.

The festival was organized by Maharaja Sayajirao University which included participants from countries like Japan, Afghanistan, Russia and Bangladesh.

Speaking on Monday, the director of the university’s international affairs office, Professor Dhanesh Patel, said the aim of the festival is to bring together the culture of all participating countries on one platform.

“This food festival was organized by the office of international affairs of MSG university. A total of 52 countries participated of which India is also included. We have a goal that we wanted to bring Indian culture and the culture of various parts of the world on one platform and we wanted to see how people from different countries could live in unity with each other, ”he said.

A student attending the festival from Tajikistan, Nainish said that they got to taste the food eaten in different countries after meeting students from all over the world.

“We prepared Aush, Ugro and Samosa which are from my country. We all got together to cook food, everyone was so happy because until that we met a lot of international students, we have met students from almost all over the world, but now we are going to taste food from every country. We enjoy that, ”she said.

Another participating student, Shakina Nazari, from Afghanistan, listed the foods that were prepared.

“We were supposed to cook our traditional food. So we made six items. The first is the Baloni which is our traditional food and is made from potatoes and flour. The second item is also made up of vegetables. The third article is the Khajur. It is our traditional sweets that we prepare during our celebrations. Another element is Halwa, Kabuli and Chutney. We prepare them with enthusiasm. We are very happy that this food festival is organized, ”she told ANI.
